let's recap raya 2008

so how was YOUR raya?

cmon now, puasa pun tak penuh nak raya lebih2 pulak hahahahha

mine? hmmmm aint that bad, but i think last year was better. maybe cause last year i still received money packets hahahahhaha

but one thing that cuts off the mood of raya since i entered uni is that the final exams are always during or just after raya month, so celebrating raya actually is filled with guilt every time...except when we play the mercun part heh heh heh

took a picture while taking care of the babies playing fireworks.

some kids in the kampung actually went to my little cousins and threw a loud firecracker to them so i had to be THE guardian, watch them to boredom and suffocate from all the smoke simultaneously. not fun, i tell you.





the rest of the first two days of raya are just filled with visits to relatives' houses under the hot scorching sun while wearing the ever so uncomfortable baju kurung.


maybe i should take a trip down to my hometown in melaka without my parents and just snap away with my dslr...

with the amount of old colonial abandoned bungalows that i saw along the way, i know a good photo would come out of it.

but raya isn't that bad afterall, just cause of the food i'm getting. plus, i can finally eat during the day...LEGALLY! not that i've been fasting that much anyway =P

this is a miniature of what a typical melaka house would look like, but not much are still that way nowadays.



even my grandma's house has undergone huge changes. i remember though when it used to be more traditional looking.

jeremy said i have the best of both worlds..which is true lah. im enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city life but im still rooted with my heritage. raya will never be the same in the city =)

went to a bbq raya at shafiq hamzah's to catch up with shah alam friends since i was m.i.a for the past few weeks due to the lovely assignments monash has assigned me to do.

the next night, ended up fashionably late for Jeff's open house in Kota Damansara but it was a fun night and imagine the scolding i got for coming back super late on a school night heh heh heh but it was all worth it thanks to the mercun me and tish (especially you lah woman with the klcc ones) brought.
