""lancau itu cina juga lu mahu ka?"
(colour merah konon tgh marah la tu)
when i first read the comment, I felt angry and sumpah macam nak baling selipar jepun colour biru putih yang orang bawak pergi jamban tu kasi sepak-sepak muka anonymous ni sampai pecah gigi berterabur atas lantai then pijak2 sampai jadi serbuk pastu tiup...fiu~ (that was a joke people, take a chill pill)
Dahla takde telur letak comment as anonymous. Hey if you dare to say something so racist like that fcking have the balls to put your name and all, claim your right to speak up your mind. Don't say something but hide behind ketiak mak kau! I'm sorry if this post sounds a tad bit rude, but i really feel that I have the right to do so. I am not sure whether you're saying tht for me or for zenny but FCK you, still. (with passion and love xoxo lol)

I thought living in this country, being in an integrated community, people are more receptive towards an interracial relationship but when I think back of all the times I see people giving me or him the look for walking with a person from a different race holding hands, I could feel the piercing eyes and the snide remarks (no I don't have bionic eyesight or hearing) especially from older people, for instance makcik pakai tudung senget ikat bawah dagu and pakcik yang bawak anak misai tebal (bukan Datuk K), or the old uncle with the kedai kopi main mahjong shorts and aunty with super permed hair and flower blouse....wahhh their stares ah i tell youuuuu, if ada laser can burn a hole in my tank top mannn. But then again, I can still accept it from those kind of people because i'd understand if they are not really exposed to the whole interracial thingy.
Don't fret, I'm not being bias to anyone, I'm a product of interracial marriage too. Damn bloody rojak I must say. So love doesn't take into account of what race you are, most important is how you treat the other person with much respect and care no matter what background you come from. And being with another person from a different race taught me about being open in conversations, to not judge, listen, learn and be more sensitive. I'm not saying we are surely gonna marry each other but everyday is a learning experience for me, and I'm thankful that he's also very open and receptive to the idea of me being culturally contemporary but still sticking to my roots and religions on some parts.
What pissed me the most are those youngsters who always talk as if their race is fckg superior than the other. Come on man, you go to a cinema ada ke segregated area according to race? you go clubbing also like that ke? got ke Changkat only for Malays and Heritage only for Chinese. Got ke? I can proudly say that me and my friends all don't care about our differences in race, religion and upbringing and we click very well. We can even talk about any of the topics openly. Joking about the stereotypical standards are fine, but not up to the point of being serious about who's better than who. So shame on you people who seem to think that me and my friends are fcked up or me being with zenny is totally wrong. I don't seem to think there's anything wrong about it. Religion issue put aside, we are all totally the same, just different in skin colour.
Penat Yasmin Ahmad buat movie nak buka kan mata rakyat Malaysia on race integration, siap semua orang puji, standing ovation, "great movie", "an eye opener", "kisah cinta sejati orked and sape tah nama dia" etc etc but actually there are still that many Malaysians who are still blind, surprisingly not colour blind -_-
really, sad...
really, sad...

alot of emotion, but rightly so.
ReplyDeletewhat ever happened to we are malaysian? regardless of race or religion.
it is this backward mentality that has to be stopped, or reduced in order for us to progress, as a country. but we've got ur back hani!

ReplyDeleteP/s: "Any difference in skin colour now?"... Gotta love that. (: Xoxo.
<3
"Any difference in skin colour now?"
ReplyDeleteShoulda picked a picture without Vishnu, the point would be stronger :-p
Jokes aside, you know I feel ya :-/
nice one.
ReplyDeletedon't give two flying rats asses about these people. we're all human and there's nothing wrong with two humans holding hands and loving each other.we're all God's creations, regardless of skin colour and what you do in life is up to Him to judge and only Him.
keep it going!
"Any difference in skin colour now?"
ReplyDelete(Besides the demon incarnate above my head aka Vishnu)
Endphrase amended...you're welcome dear^^, LOL!!
P.s: You learn long ago that there is always some small sad little immature child sexually abused by his father when he was young, lost his virginity to his grandmother, and is probably slightly retarded due to the generations of inbreeding. So the only way he can vent his frustrations is online to feel like a "man"(this word is being used in the broadest sense). Do yourself a favour and give yourself a hug..cuz probably that hug is the only hug you'll ever get from a person that loves you.
hi hanie, i'm sorry for being anonymous, im ur silent reader..just wanna know, so u said about u being the product of interracial marriage..details pls? :)

Very easy to settle racial problem.
ReplyDeleteLet's drink to it.
The more race, the merrier. More stuff and things to explore and do.
Imagine how sad Malaysia would be if all Malay just eat Nasi Lemak and all Chinese just eat Bah Kut Teh.
Jom. Kita semua INTERRACIAL sama sama.
I'm presently looking for an Eskimo companion.
Hey Hani!
ReplyDeleteSome things ppl say are just meant to be ignored. It's hard but think of it as looking kinda mental talking to an empty drum. Jaga imej skit wei! lols!
Cheers babe,
Gerard

ReplyDeleteplus,who's pure malay nowadays anyway??(ok fine,maybe there's a bunch)

ReplyDeletetah pape je anonymous atas tu? dia layak di kalangan rempit je kot? that's whyyyy bebeyh. anyways, love the spirit.
ReplyDeletejust do what u think is right and makes u happy, ignore others, they are just jealous of u
ReplyDelete"so what did 'sepet' taught us?"
ReplyDeleteSepet taught us that some movies just have plain weird endings.
Other than that, I'm a silent reader from Singapore and I'm sad interracial relationships are still being frowned upon across the causeway. Over here, dogs, cats and humans are cross-breeding freely without any tension.
i second that. (on sepet comment)
ReplyDeleteLOL..it's just how they are brought up i guess.
a silent reader who wanted a chinese bf but settled for a malay one who looked chinese :)
omg seriously, this thing - interracial relationship is still an issue to some people ke?
ReplyDeleteeven makcik2 kampung pon dah tak heran ok.
ala hani this ppl dont deserve your attention la..just ignore them la..and sorry to say im surprised that you mentioned u get the stare...cos kalau i tgk u first time i wouldnt think that you are malay.maybe chinese..or mix (pls dont take this the wrong way).
hokay.bye.
liyana : people are not talking abt wether u look like a malay or not now. its abt hanie and the bitch anonymous. gila nk interframe ko ni.
ReplyDelete"a silent reader who wanted a chinese bf but settled for a malay one who looked chinese :)"
ReplyDelete-- this is very cute. :)
anyway, hanie, ignore lah anon tu. dia tak ada bf atau she's so into bf orang. ignore, seat back, and laugh at her stupid remarks.
oh well gubra's the continuation of sepet, so maybe you should watch gubra before saying sepet has weird endings, happy endings are for ppl who are living in denial. and if you know how to make money and how to make movies, maybe you'll have 'weird' endings in yr movies too. singaporeans. stuck-ups. snooty-nosed. of course yr country's (sing) easier to handle, cause it's as small as.. yr penis/boobs. BYEEEE.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, which is also why people have blogs. It is good to see u voicing out what u feel on such 'issues' such as interracial relationships. Admirable post, keep it up, like the photo.
ReplyDeleteanonymous yg entah ke berape:
ReplyDeletehello??read between the lines boley???
what i mean was,if org frown over the fact that hanie has a chinese boyf,it's because they prefer malay & malay rite?but what I'M trying to POINT out is that lotsa of Malays aren't 100% malay pon(background)..so who cares about interracial r'ship..DUH!!!!
There will come a day when race will cease to mean anything, for time will see to it that the races blend. A fusion of traits. A diverse gene pool in the land of Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteBut there are barriers in the way. The legislation of faith continues to this day. The only other democratic country in which a person's faith is determined by a piece of paper/plastic is Isreal.
The scourge of intolerance. THe scourge of self-righteousness. The scourge that seeks to indoctrinate and proselytize is an insult to the concept that the world was created to test the hearts of men/women by means of which they differ.
For some need their beliefs to feel good about themselves...and use their beliefs to criticize those they are jealous of...and hope their beliefs will give them a shot in life....when in reality it just makes them ignore their inadequacies...and they will remain LOSERS in the game of life. So fvck them. Yeah.
Hanie, stay the course. Awesome FTW. You know what you have to do... and remember... NOBODY knows what is in the hearts of men...and nobody really knows who are those who believe. What is written on a piece of paper/plastic means nothing.
ez.
Hanie I have ur back. Kudos to what you are doing & standing up for what you believe in. I'm also in an inter racial relationship & have been for the past 1 year. And funny you wrote this post cause I was just writing a paper in relation with yasmin ahmad & inter-racial relationships :)
ReplyDeleteduring my school days.. 1 of my best friend is an indian.. in college i got mixed up with chinese, indian and sikh. There are all good friends and we respect each other. They are absolutely no difference in race. Instead there should be only 1 race in this world. But the important thing is our religion. Never forget why we are living in this world. The only reason is God no matter who your God is. We always heard that we should do something for the sake of mankind up to the level that we forgot the existence of God. I saw everywhere people (especially girls) sacrifice everything for the sake of love. Love our God and automatically we'll do good to the mankind. Need to say this before I die tomorrow.
ReplyDeletehani! hani! :)
ReplyDeleteim your another silent reader.
dont give a damn shit to what they say or what they think of you. ada setengah oarng ni memang kaki dengki mulut longkang. :)
hey.. i love this post. it's like my situation wit my bf. since i'm wit a nonmalay, most ppl kinda sounded me n say bad things abt him just because he's a cindian. those ppl just being childish or jealous i guess. my parents hv no problems wit me being a relationship wit my bf. so i guess, u shud do d same thing: believe wat u believe in n f*** of those haters. lots of love, n gud luck.
ReplyDeleteyes your love life is the same as sepet in yasmin ahmad film?puhhhleeezzzzzz la...u're nothing like it..i'm not being racist but your love life is not the same as yasmin ahmad philosophy...atleast the characters in the movie doesn't drink beer and go clubbing..herm..it's interesting to see how you portrait your life..after all your just the same as the teenager who wants attention..cheers mate!
ReplyDeleteok anonymous, thanks for your feedback =)
ReplyDeletejust a word of advice from me.
ReplyDeleteits never wrong to be in a interracial relationship but as long as u can keep ur religion and practice what is right and not neglecting all your duties as a Muslim. If you could make him as a good Muslim, that would be a very honourable job.
Keep looking at yourself and try to be a better Muslim by performing solah and try to stop doing all forbidden things.
Hopefully you relationship gets HIS blessing and thats what matters most.
-blogwalker
dear blogwalker,
ReplyDeletethank you for your advice. i can honestly say that it is not easy to teach someone about my religion as I'm not that well versed myself but i am working on it and of course aims to be better in His eyes. I am not perfect and i admit that i have many flaws to fix on.
but, thanks. i appreciate the way you put it.
Love the last pic.. except tak nampak vishnu... :p.. (vishnu, i wuv u~~! lollll)
ReplyDeleteAla, hanie, screw those people who always have sth nonsensical to say about ur life, its cos they have nuthin in theirs.
you know we have your back.. ada apa, come la! Grr, i might suck in futsal, but hell, i can beat up a person if i want to. ;p
lol all those who post the comments.. i dont even know whats the problem.. what people think is not even an issue. The only people that matter is ur family >> ur parents maybe? besides that, some chinese boys dig malay girls, and vice versa or in any combination u like.. LOL i would just really really like to see how our world would be mixed in the future.. people would be like 1/8 chinese 2/8 malay and shit. that would be like ownage.. and minority races would cease to exist. so like hell yea man.. do it do it... make 1/4 babies. or whatever ur combo is. Anyways, love transcends beyond race religion and culture, like DUH. AHAHA but dont emo when people question ur choice in partners. Just remember when u have kids.. do not in a thousand years forbid them to date some dude or girl from another race. if racial discrimination was not enough (from stupid people ofcourse) the last thing u would want to be is a hypocrite :) peace.. gosh im like writing a blog post here. wtf.. nvm i want to post the longest comment. is it long? dunno... wont know .. dont care. SPAM!
ReplyDeleteSPAM!
guess what ...

ReplyDelete1. by writing this post you should be more open minded to people's opinion. i agree that some people are being rude, but i just feel like ur putting urself to that level
ReplyDeleteErrr.... just want to correct a slight grammar mistake there... should have been "so what did sepet teach us" and not "sowshat did sepet taught us"
