OKla let's not talk about sensitive topics cause it seems like when I do, some people terasa/tak suka/benci so yeah let's just leave it as that and think of happy things ok? deal?
ok *calit jari*
so here, after 4 months of delay, I'm finally typing down the final installment of my Egypt trip...konon nak buat ala2 'Bourne Trilogy' in three posts but I failed majorly. There were too many things to tell and too many photos to show. Mesti la nak tunjuk gambar! penat woh angkut the camera bag and I even sacrificed by not bringing a girly handbag.
Let's pick up where I left off from here
Arrived at a Nubian Village to stumble upon a 'Carrefour' outlet...sumpah maju
but this one sells ONLY souvenirs, no beef bacon or your daily orange juice lol
walking in this village is like walking in a minefield. If you don't watch out, camel dung will be your new shoe coating. bau bleh tahan baek punya! So when you walk in this village, somehow you'll be looking down all the time, macam anak dara tersipu nak kena pinang orang. alahai =P
after the very 'interesting' walk through half of the village, we arrived at a local school where it was our first pit stop to be a 'half-day Nubian'
The sand in the school phoah I tell youuuu can go main beach volleyball sial
First stop, the classroom!
Kids nowadays, they just don't concentrate in class.. tch tch =P
The teacher taught us numbers in Arabic, and also in Nubian.
Numbers and writing in Arabic was not much of a difficulty to me since I grew up with it but the Nubian?
MAJOR FAIL!
It is the language of the Sudanese in Egypt. So imagine me saying stuff in some African slang, and how I wish it sounded like Leo DiCaprio in "Blood Diamond" (that one sexy oh!) -_-"
If you fail to say the right word, you'll get caned (playfully)
NSFW: this is some S&M shit going on here WAHAHA
that's dad over there lol FAIL!
and then it was my turn to recite numbers...IN NUBIAN!
I think I freaked out quite a bit there.
I wasn't really paying attention because of these kids at the back not concentrating in class.
we left the classroom and had a tour at the school's rooftop for the view of the whole village. Oh, and if you were wondering, NO I said the numbers all right, with help from 6-7 whispers hahaha
The mother memang tak aaaa nak kasi keluar kan so they brought the baby out...
SUPER CUTE OUI! I want one T_T
The houses in Nubian villages are usually painted in bright colors with murals on the walls.
Nubian girls:
Next stop was a house next door.
Nubians worship crocodiles and they keep them as pets. I guess during the era where the Nile Crocodiles were not extinct, it was seen as one of the most powerful animals on earth, and is usually kept by the royals.
My shot of the crocodile:
while my brother decided to be braver (or maybe dumber) by putting his hand and G10 under the fence...
kalau kena ngap satu kali memang padan muka wei
The mother memang tak aaaa nak kasi keluar kan so they brought the baby out...
SUPER CUTE OUI! I want one T_T
oh and as a gesture of hospitality, they served us Rose Tea and some bread with FOUR dippings...
Can't remember how fast I nomed the food. One of the dips are cheese, one is like brown sugar syrup, one is molasses and can't remember the other one...
I was eating suka hati when dad gave me the " kau sakit perut kang jangan cari aku" punya look...
potong gila cheh
oh and while waiting around, this little boy came out from nowhere and went to Careena, the baby of our group and kissed her on the lips! WAH WAH kau budak kecik, gatal betul! but he was so adorable smiling all the way and when we gave him biscuits he nomed it while smiling. ahah, freaky pun ada.
Sasha Fierce?
It was lunchtime so we gotta head back to the cruise ship but for once, us the teens (dan aku yang perasan teenager) wanted to sit on top of the boat....BILA LAGI?? haha
God knows how much we camwhored on it!
After lunch, we packed up, checked out and went to Phillae Temple.
not going to explain much as the history of these temples are very elaborated so if you wanna know more, you can read about it here
Dad and sister
God Osiris:
It was getting dark so we gotta head back to Aswan's train station to catch our night train to Cairo
oh, tapi sempat tu singgah a papyrus institute. Papyrus are made from a plant and supposedly to last thousands of years. Inscriptions from the ancient Egyptians were all found written on papyrus and somehow it does not decay. Let's just hope my RM600 on the painting is well worth spending..if not, NANGIS!
oh and we found this in one of the shops lol
TOILT..bagus!
Choo Choo..lama seh tak naik train. And of course, my first time on a night-train. takes about 8 hours to reach to Cairo cause we were already way down south.
seriously, I have a claustrophobic issue and the cabin really irritates me.
Oh well, my first and last time, for sure!
dinner on board...I don't fancy Egyptian food. My sister likes all these Turkish, Egyptian, Greek thing going on. I feel like they're abit too dry. Sorry la, Malaysian habis dah.
thank God I had my quick Twinkies fix
The journey was not pleasant at all. Somehow the train keeps emergency braking through out the whole night and considering that I'm a light sleeper, I didn't sleep at all! Felt as if we ran through 1000 cows the whole time. the impact from one coach to another was pretty bad and surprisingly most of the passengers did not even notice it..... errrrr kaaayyyy 0_o
Maybe we did ran into 1000 cows, it was super foggy so the trip was delayed to 13 hours...nak mati ok. dahla toilet bau hancing, no water to flush it.
oh and there's no shower so I had to endure oily hair all day long ugh
Maggi lagi sedap
Killing time by doing our own party in the cabin lol
Finally reached Cairo. I really thought I was gonna die from a train wreck or something. Alhamdulillah!
Lunch, at Hard Rock Hotel Cairo.
Since the train schedule fucked ours up, we had to reschedule the trip. Instead of going to Alexandria straight from the train, we spent the day in Cairo instead.
Sign at the toilet haha
oh and I wanted to buy a tank top while my sis wanted to buy a drumstick set. We were tight on schedule but the person in front of us were still buying stuff when the total amount was already THIS!
Fuck you! Fuck you anon! I wanted that tank top!
ARGH!
Our first tourist visit after lunch is the Saladin Mosque or also known as Alabaster mosque.
It was not just a mosque as it was built as a fortress of the old city and I believe it is the highest point of Cairo overlooking the whole city.
I loved taking pictures here, they turn out really realllllyyyy nice with very minimal editing
You gotta take your shoes off before you enter and for those who wish to not take them off, can buy plastic bags to cover their shoes for 1 Dollar. However, let me warn you, it does look tad bit too ridiculous and ugly in photos haha
The interior of the mosque is the best part. You'll see orbs like these in the middle of the dome
and this was my view when I was sitting outside with Cherlyn, gossiping. lol
Next stop, the most anticipated EGYPTIAN MUSEUM!!!!!
my sister and I were so excited cause this is where they keep all treasures they found during tomb excavations especially the treasures of King Tut...Therefore, when you visit the tombs, you'll see NOTHING except for carvings on the walls. All the treasures have been moved to this museum.
Oh, they found all sorts of things, among other that were stolen. TRUST ME, you haven't seen it all until you see King Tut's undies and condom... -_-"
bloody disgusting.
Even the alabaster jars that were sposed to keep their internal organs still have blood stains around it
*pukes*
and I even paid an extra 60 Egyptian Pounds (supposedly 100, but I said I was 16 lol) to enter the Royal Mummy room where they kept and uncovered all the preserved mummies. It was super duper cool cause you can see their eyelashes, hair and even nails still!
Ok, since cameras were not allowed in the museum, I've googled for photos of the Mummy Room, and here's what I found:
mummmyyyyyyyy (click here)
DO NOT CLICK IF YOU'RE EATING LOL
and also a view of what the inside of the Egyptian Museum looks like
here
Oh, we were then whisked off to the biggest street market in Cairo...and no, I'm not a souvenir person thus I didn't buy anything. It was fun though browsing. I brought bread and buns to give out to the little kids, and the moment they knew it was food they grabbed it from our hands and started punching each other for it. Sad, that poverty teaches these young minds the harshest way to survive.
pretty lights
oh, this is my tour guide, the girls thinks he looks like an unta lol
He was gonna belanja me shisha but my parents were around hahaha CANCEL! malas nak dengar orang tua bising2

Last day in Egypt.
Woke up super early cause it takes about 3 hours to get to Alexandria up north...
I hate fogs....makes me sleepy
and yeah, I had coffee and I couldn't sleep in the bus so I took out all the tickets I collected from all the places I visited there:
We stopped at an R&R halfway and I discovered the BEST PLACE ON EARTH to buy NUTS!
took me quite a while to choose there...and the place is exactly like Famous Amos just that they only sell nuts and dried fruits
yeah, the name...memang takleh pakai hahaha
I bought peanuts coated in caramel and cashewnuts coated in red cheese powder...AWESOME gila!!!
Pompeii Pillar, first stop!
We went down to an underground refugee camp haha a.k.a catacombs but pictures weren't allowed. Thus, no photos. This catacomb was a hide-out for people who still practice mummification after the Muslims invade the country. They were then a minority and mummification were not allowed forcing them to secretly do it.
you can view photos of the catacomb here and here
We had greek food for lunch!
not a fan! =D
after lunch, we went to Alexandria Library, the biggest and oldest library in the world. This is the new one as the old one have been submerged in the waters.
that's dad, modelling the ticket to enter heheh
read more click here
they have art pieces in the library as displays and ohhh the tables I tell you gila lawa. nak study pun cam semangat je (poyo je ni)
El Salamiah Palace, used to be a summer palace but turned into a swanky hotel. So swanky that you have to pay to enter and have a tour. -_-"
baik beli air.
My brother went on a G10 color detector frenzy:
Last stop of the day, to get a local drink called Carob, macam air kurma, effing sweet but I liked it
Last dinner together:
and off to Malaysia, tanah tumpah darahku haha
That's the end of my Egypt Diary, phew and this was a long one! There's so much to tell but so little time and space and I hope you, my readers, get to experience it yourselves but for now, I hope you've walked in my shoes through the journey and see what I saw. Seeing the empty desert was a magnificent experience, and of course, striking off another world wonder off my list is satisfying.
