I was privileged enough to be invited to attend the launching of the new
Debenhams concept store in Lot 10.
I thought I was gonna skip it cause I was down with flu, but Josh insisted that I go cause it's my thing haha
ok, I didn't regret it although I became sicker the next day, but I got rm100 voucher from the goodie bag to be spent at Debenhams ngeheheh =D
Well, we know that Debenhams opened before in Times Square but shut down due to undisclosed reasons, and I guess as it fits the collection showcased, they emerged again like a butterfly with a new concept in a newer location.
All in all it was a very posh event, attended by the creme de la creme of the local entertainment industry.
Spotted was Jimmy Choo, Kavita Kaur, Deborah Henry, Jovian Mandagie, Ning Baizura, Will Quah and many more tall, lanky people that made me feel like a floor mop on a wednesday night hahaha
Debenhams is one of the oldest British department store chains and Lot 10 is one of their 157 stores internationally. The one in Lot 10 is Debenham's 58th international store and it goes up to 3 levels. Lot 10 will be the first store in Malaysia to carry the collections by Ben de Lisi, Matthew Williamson, Henry Holland, Julien MacDonald, John Rocha and Jasper Conran.
The launch of Debenhams were officially opened by Matthew Williamson
Stephanie Chai as host
The launch also featured Matthew Williamson (like, HELLO!) and his new collection for Debenhams, Butterfly.
Matthew Williamson shot to fame as his designs were donned by A-listers such as Kiera Knightly, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Moss, Helena Christensen and many more.
below, are some of the looks showcased on the runway:
The Man of the Party - Matthew Williamson.
(
Williamson started his career with two years of work experience with Georgina Von Etzdorf, Marni and Monsoon. In 1996, after his beaded bags and scarves had caught the attention of Kate, Helena and Amber, Williamson launched his own clothes label with business partner Joseph Velosa. Kate, Helena and Jade Jagger later agreed to model in his London Fashion Week debut show, called Electric Angels.[citation needed]
In 2005, he launched his own perfume range. In 2006, Williamson took over as creative director at Pucci. In 2007, a runway show of his designs was incorporated into the video for Prince's song "Chelsea Rodgers" from his Planet Earth album. In 2009, Williamson is cooperating with Swedish clothing company H&M. His collection for men and women, which launches on 23 April will include Williamson's first venture into the menwear market.
In May 2009, Williamson launches his own online shop.[2]
He made a guest appearance on season 7 of Project Runway[3], the episode aired on January 28th, 2010.)
