NEX(t) Big Thing?

You know how I always complain that I need to look for a new camera that's compact in size but doesn't give me the compact digital quality? (I'm used to the DSLR quality kind of photos)

I've tried my brother's G10 but still not satisfied with the picture quality. Plus, the lenses can't be interchangeable (means less effect since I LOVE 50mm).

Only about 2 weeks ago, I stumbled upon this camera by Sony, and I got to play with the demo unit and OH MY GOODNESS I fell in love at first sight. I tweeted about it, and got a few positive responses regarding the camera.

They refused to let me know of the price though (cannot budget already hahaha), for I had to wait and find out at the launch event at Teeq Brassierre, Lot 10.

No doubt that I love my DSLR but sometimes when I'm all prettified or dolled for something, lugging that big black thing on my shoulders, other than my handbag just breaks the outfit. Damn potong ok!

If you are looking for a camera in the likes of the G-series, Pen or GF1, this is the one for you. It's the slimmest in it's range, light-weight, and has interchangeable lenses. And I've seen the bokeh effect from this camera. I swear, it's as good as a DSLR.

Oh and did I mention that they have a 'sweep panorama' function? Trumps out the color detector and in-camera editing function (all that can be done after photo transferred to laptop). It's harder to stitch photos together than editing colour and effect. Plus, if you're at a party and you want a super huge group shot without missing anyone, this function is P-E-R-F-E-C-T cause I hate cramming and in the end, you still can't really see yourself.

They have two specs, which is the NEX3 and NEX5 and if I talk about the differences, it'll be longer than my essay on Islamic Banking's benefits so let's not go there hahaha

Guests arrived at about 7pm (most were early to beat the KL traffic I guess) and greeted by lovely young ladies in white, especially these two below who were the hottest:

Pamela Chong (famed from Amazing Race Asia and being Vince AF1's sister) was the emcee for the night.

Dancers in white, doing some Lady Gaga thingamajigg came on to showcase to the attendees the camera units (they have it in ruby red...I like!)

Then the official launching began with special guests from Sony Japan giving out the welcome speech and actually showcased the NEX3 and NEX5.

Wah Keong, from Sony Malaysia then came up on stage showing the attendees what that little nifty baby can do and we were all like jakun here and there going "ooh" and "ahh" and "ohmaiGod so cool"  -_-"

We were like little kids in Toys 'R' Us sehhh.

The media launch part then ended, with one lucky winner to bring back the camera (I wanted to stalk her but got abit distracted when they said they were serving food)  -_-"

The Sony people were so nice to feed us hungry patrons with proper meals. Some were afraid that there'd be only canapes since we haven't had dinner yet lol gluttons!

At one point I had to go to the loo and while I was walking towards it, I realized that they were displaying photos taken by Sony cameras and also their telly sets like some sort of a mini art gallery at the alley. (lol that rhymed and lol I'm lame)

They were even showcasing camera and its gadgets inside Teeq itself, and everyone got to view the 3D TV by Sony first hand. Honestly, I'm not a fan of 3Ds but if you can have that at home, you'd be the coolest kid in town yo!

They even had games for people to win goodies.

And we, the semangat people esp Amanda, thought that the prizes would be the cameras. 

DREAM ON! but it's okay, my dad always say that dreaming is FREE whereas the camera must PAY ok!

Dad's set on buying me an iPad for my birthday, but I wanted to ask him for a NEX5. I don't think he'll be keen on buying another camera since mum just bought a new camera as well. What's with my family and cameras wei! -_-"
