Marina Bay Sands Hotel room - Singapore

The journey to Marina Bay Sands from Little India was an interesting one, from one station to another, I dragged my super heavy luggage (note to self: find a proper backpack) even when crossing the streets. Thank God for years of training to become a seasoned traveler, and also for someone to help me out. The only complaint would be the scorching hot sun, which at the end of the day, can't be helped...

You can take the MRT from anywhere to Marina Bay Station, but do note that during rush hour, going through main stations aren't advisable especially if you're carrying luggages like me.

And do note that, it's about 10 minutes walk from Marina Bay station to the hotel itself. If you can't stand the amount of walking and the heat, please hail a cab.

P.S: I heard there's an app to call for cabs in Singapore? so cool  =(

This is how the hotel looks like, from a birds eye view. Oh no, that's just a miniature:

This whole thing was built at an investment of US$ 5.5 billion inclusive of land cost on a 15.5 hectares of land with a built-up area of 581, 400 sqm. The casino is only less than 3% of the Gross Floor Area haha. The hotel was designed by the famous Boston based architest, Moshe Safdie, who I met during the museum tour the day after.

 Back to my story....

I was greeted by a sumptuous buffet spread, along with the rest of the Malaysian media team that comprises of traditional media, television and print, at lunch. Sorry I forgot to take photos, too hungry and tired, I only managed to twitpic my lunch  =D

And thanks to PlacesAndFoods for the wonderful opportunity!

We had about an hour's rest before we went off to our next activity, a tour of the Grand lavished pimped out suites and also the hotel's mall that's situated right behind the hotel (Casino is inside as well), and what else is there to do but freshen up, and take photos!!!

-The view from 14th floor to the lobby-

In total, there's 2561 rooms and suites, 55 floors with 18 different room types. Different rooms offers different views of the South China Sea, Marina Bay or the Singapore Skyline. The 230 luxury suites comes with butler service and privileged access to VIP areas.

I slid my keycard into the door, only to be awed by it's lavishness. I got so excited I nearly went and jumped straight onto the bed...but. must. maintain. heh  -_-"

Mind you that this, is only the standard Atrium bedroom. Wait til I blog about the Orchid Suites that has a BABY GRAND PIANO!  -_-"  (overkill)

Marina Bay Sands is the largest hotel in Singapore (not to mention the most famous now), with over 2,500 rooms and suites with awesome views of the bay (if you get the room facing the bay lah)

- luxury comes in details, even on the remote casing: full leather -

An array of in-house entertainment is provided for you, and also outside the room. Note: the casino, mall, skypark etc!

Best part about being in hotel rooms, are the bathrooms. Bathrooms for me, is the indication of the level of the hotel. If the bedroom is nice, but the bathroom lacks oomph, then it's a turn-off for me.

Marina Bay Sands' bathroom, for me, was heaven on the 14th floor =)

With this bathtub, I rinsed off the day's fatigue with a warm bubble bath before bedtime. Talk about self pampering in the heart of the city!

Oh, and I kept the best for the last.....SUPPLIESSSS!!!!

they have my name on the telly!

nice?
