The story on how I got to know about Sup Clothing was a very simple google and found story. However, the friendship bond that we built after that was another whole story. Point8cam spent 2010's Christmas in Singapore, right after I came back from my Switzerland trip so we were still skyping and whatsapping each other whenever we can. Knowing point8cam, I googled on skateshops or street wear stores for him to visit, and found Sup Clothing as one of the recommended stores on Haji Lane. Before he went, however, I browsed their site and fell in love with one of the sunglasses brand that Sup Clothing brings in, the 9five eyewear. Of course I asked him to check it out, but I tweeted Sup Clothing and it started a series of direct messages and tweets, and me asking whether point8cam could visit and film a little bit about the store for his episodes. The rest, as they say, was history (plus, he brought back one sunnies I love, and he wore it all the time)
Check out point8cam's video when he visited Sup Clothing late last year!
This friendship was an on-going online thing up until half a year later, during our mid-year trip to Singapore, that I finally step foot into the store. I LOVE Haji Lane. It was eclectic, and the people I met were lovely, which made my trip much more memorable. I finally met the person behind the twitter handle too, and Jacky, was too nice to actually bring us 'tourists' around, even to his birthday party with his close friends.
If you wanna go to Haji Lane via the MRT you need to stop at Bugis Station, and look for the nearest mosque. Haji Lane is pretty near there. Lined with affordable and eclectic shops, I'm sure you're bound to find things you'd like. It felt like almost an art-sier version of Telawi Bangsar but their choices are of course, much better than the ones we have here which sells mostly generic clothes to satisfy most generic customers. There's also a bike shop, Tokyo Bike (which I'd love to get a bike from) and a few other cafes and eateries around the area... maybe not just a few. There was a TON!
Here's the interior of Sup Clothing and they carry brands such as Flying Coffin, New Balance and Feiyue shoes, other than the 9five eyewear just to name a few.
point8cam even ordered these 9Five Diamond KLS classics in the exact hue of his belt, some collaboration edition with one of his favorite skater, Josh Kalis (I think) and it arrived few weeks back! Now he's on this one non stop since he has a matching belt as well -_-
Check out their website, or Facebook. They do international shipping!
