Veet POME - no more cuts and nicks

Often that, when I suddenly want to wear some sleeveless top or a skirt, I'd take the easy way out by using razor to remove hair on my underarms or my legs but little did I know, at that age, that shaving would only remove the visible part of the hair strand, and at the same time cause either nicks, cuts, or cause the surface of the skin to darken (or what you would usually call ketiak hitam).

Did you know that while shaving, a person removes about as much skin as hair and this in turn will shed not only the dead skin cells on the surface but also cause it to burn (sore or red patch from excessive friction with bare skin). Did you also know that by removing the hair on your underarms, it would not only look nicer (ahem) but it would also eliminate bacteria build-up from sweating and accumulation of dead skin cells. And it also helps to eliminate odour.

Okay, fine there are, of course, the myths we often hear when using razor that is just plain untrue but if there's an alternative to shaving, why not try it, right? Veet has been in the Malaysian market for a VERY long time. In fact, since the days I was still reading Cleo magazine in high school. New products always spark an interest in me, and I did buy one of their creams only to end up amazed at how the hair strand wrinkles and sort of 'died' during the process and just falls off when you wipe it with a piece of cloth.

Well, these are some of the knowledge I got from the Veet Roadshow as well as from online research. There are many more myths to shaving using a razor but Veet, is offering a better alternative where you use the same method minus the blades. There would be no cuts since there would only be cream and a plastic spatula-like apparatus to remove the hair follicles from the surface of the skin. In fact, if the hair is fine, the roots might even be removed in the process.

Lucky patrons who attended the roadshow received goodie bags from Veet, and went home with more knowledge on hair removal and beauty tips to bag. There was even a contest where a slogan could win you a RM500 M.A.C voucher other than games provided at the roadshow for you to win their product. Freshkon (yes, the contact lenses brand) was also there providing patrons eyecare tips and vouchers. What's not to love? Will keep you guys updated for more roadshows =)

Why everyone needs a little Luqiee in their lives

Well, at first I was writing a whole long post on Luqiee @ Luqmanul Hakim 'Bolkiah' and our history - how I know about him, what sparked the feud but I don't want to ride on his thunder and it's his trademark to be writing long posts with all kinds of 'facts' so I scraped em all off. I know some of you are curious on what happened until I deserve a post dedication on his blog, but let's save it for another day, okay?

I was thinking about it the other day...what's not to love and loathe about this guy! He would actually be an awesome friend, if you look on the bright side!

And come on, let's all be positive for a day after all the Twitter war...nay?  =D

1. He'll make a good football buddy.

Luqiee is awesome to watch football with. No matter what team you support, he'll surely be able to support you. He's like the best lalang around. It's the same when he told me he's not racist, but he makes racist remarks all the time. Means he's able to adapt to the pro-Malays and he can also be buddy2 with non-Malays. One day he loves Najib Razak and he's his 'best-friend' but if they 'fight' or Najib doesn't listen to his orders, he'll call Najib babi, anjing, bodoh and so on. If you're in a fight, just try to coax him to be on your side and wallah, you've got an entourage...of a one man show.

Oh, if you're a big fan of Lisa Surihani, please don't tell him about your secret celebrity crush or he will hate you for life cause she's the love of his life.

2. He will provide free entertainment for you.

Really, this guy is like a walking TVB Channel. He will provide you more drama than the whole series of Bold and Beautiful combined (which was 1017 in total apparently). Just follow him and you'll get all kinds of episode updates - fights, arguments, politics, flirtings. You name it, you got it. Gossip Girls box set? forget it. Streaming The Hills online? forget it. Even the fights in Jersey Shore is kindergarten stuff compared to his.

It'll save you your monthly subscription to whatever satellite telly you're on.

3. He's the 'son' of Sultan Brunei

Honestly, don't tell me you wouldn't wanna be friends with a Sultan's 'son'. Can u imagine all the benefits you're gonna get. Jyeahhhh...now we're talkin ;)

4. He'll make an awesome English teacher

He will teach you new vocabularies that doesn't exist in the dictionary.....yet (according to what he said). You will get first dibs on new words, just like how Beyonce did it with bootylicious. He will fix your sentence, teach you past and present tense (even when you really meant it to be in present tense he will assume it's in past tense) and you will somehow realize you've been spelling things wrongly all your life...

I didn't know that you should spell college as..collage?

In case you're wondering how he got my full name (which isn't even 100% correct actually), he added me on Skype (out of nowhere, thanks to his stalking abilities) and there you go, my full name -_-"

Without him, I wouldn't even know the word 'Concernative' exists

So I went to and googled, ended up at a site called Dictionarist and to my horror, this is what I found!

How can this be? OMG Dictionarist, you're the enemy who's plotting an agenda towards Lord Luqiee. He will be displeased if he finds out. Doesn't matter, when he gets his RM800 million, he will pay you enemies to publish that word for him and make it legit! Gah! You know all those spelling errors? It wasn't his fault really! He explained them all on his blog. I totally agree with him, grammar is the most important part when speaking english but take note, people, you should not try this at home without the supervision of a professional.

5. He'll be your personal secretary.

He will keep all the information you want, or about you....archived! And don't worry about getting confused on which article should you be looking for a certain information, he actually memorizes all of em by articles. He is like the world index! I wonder how does he index all the 5204+- books that he said he has read?

6. He will be your personal spy/ stalker.

Let's say that you hate your boyfriend's ex girlfriend or there's this biatch that you wanna stalk and know more so you can gossip, Luqiee will be your best friend cause he will spend his day and night digging all kinds of shit about that person. All you need to do is just tell a simple white lie to Luqiee and say that the person you hate is connected to Freemason/Illuminati or PKR/PAS/PEKIDA. Yeah, he clustered them all together to make our lives easier you see? How thoughtful  ;)

7. He will tell you things about yourself that you probably never know yourself.

A good friend is a friend who would tell you things that you would probably never realized about yourself. A good friend would also tell you all these while others just will prolly never say anything about it. For instance:

and I'm sorry point8cam for I never intended to be with you just to get over my previous relationship. I didn't mean it, really but Luqiee said it first. I guess he must be right then. It seems like he knows me well...thanks to Google. I guess I cannot marry you then.
='(

8. You will learn how to fully utilize Google search engine.

Need I say more? Seriously?

Oh, did I mention he's the Lord of I.P addresses. He can trace your I.P address even if it changes everytime your router resets cause you're in Malaysia  =)

9. You will learn how to create a bank account with HSBC.

If he can do an online tutorial to teach the Sultan of Brunei how to set up an HSBC bank account (So humble lah this prince. Other princes use Swiss Bank accounts), of course he can teach you too!

It's plain simple  =)  Click here to learn how to (not a paid advertorial)

Kalau korang rajin tolong lah dermakan seringgit dua as a fan to him. Account number ada kat atas tu. Dia terima cash deposit and also cheques.

10. He can teach you about FOREX Trading

He does play with FOREX and made USD $8,194.15 profit a day, that smart fella ;)

See, he wasn't even kidding!

I was so proud of him only to be dissapointed in the end that it was only a demo account. Takpe Luqiee, nanti cuba lagi, ok?  =) *hugs*

________________________________________________

Luqiee, you said you were gonna pay me a visit while I send my sister to Sunway Collage in the morning for her classes. I was waiting but you never showed up.

Instead you only said Hi on skype and went offline immedeatly after that. Boo, you suck! Kesian my sister penat dia polish kereta tu. Anyways, do visit Shah Alam. We have I-City here with a beautiful view during sunsets. It's even near a JPJ office, takyah trace2 lah. datang je, jangan segan2. Oh, and thanks for the multiple plugs with my blog links on it ;)

On another note,

Well, Luqiee warned you guys and the Malaysian government on his blogpost that I will use this opportunity to make money and become famous... f.y.i Luqiee I was way famous even before you appeared on twitterville. I..it is ME and your enemies who made you famous...MWAHAHAHAHAH! I was just kidding. You are the BEST!  ;)

PS: Can I have a cut of your RM800mill?  =D
We can buy a PS3 and play together-gether.

Bangkok Calling: The video

Finally, I managed to deal with this video after scraping the project many times just cause I didn't have the modjo. I find that video editing comes with mood for me, and this one brought back tons of happy memories and of course, this was my first video with Point8cam in it along with other friends - Justin Bratton, Sarah Hodgens, Ken Chang and Shelva Ng who were with us throughout the trip. I hope the video will make you smile too although I wished that I shot more stuff. Some of em had to be stolen from point8cam's stash so that it makes a complete story. Shot on a mixture of Panasonic Lumix GF-1, Canon 550D and 60D and edited with Adobe Premiere Elements 9 (point8cam thinks I should try this first before advancing to Pro) -_-"

I is not pro mehhh?  ......

Bangkok posts will be published after the Europe ones are complete, to avoid confusion =D

Peeling every inch of flesh for the world to see

Sometimes I wonder if the road I choose will be the death of me. I try to take a breather everytime it starts to suffocate but all it does is keep consuming me.

What I want is a sanctuary on the highest hills so no one could bring me back down cause if I do, I'd succumb to that person I'd hate to be.

I want the world to see me in a different light but I guess that light wasn't so bright. I hold on tight with all my might for what the world has for me, I know it's not right.
To be hoping for a different life the moment I wake up and open my eyes, I can't feel the reason to go on, sometimes I wish I'd die. But thoughts of you are the reason to keep me alive, I took a step back and refuse to dive.

Into the life of a girl surrounded by false pretense, nothing ever seemed real, nothing ever did make sense. Is it a virus, is it a sickness? Cause everyday it's eating her alive, inches by inches.

Maybe she's just going through a phase, as long as she buries her face, she'll just be kept in a daze. Through the days, when the sun stop shining down on her, and the worst things that could possibly occur, she'll be there just dreaming those days that have passed in a blur.

Everytime the public has their eyes on her, it felt like she's peeling every inch of flesh for the world and it burns. Makes her dizzy, when her world starts to churn.

Those people don't care about you, they criticize, they undermine they minimize. Til a point where you feel like everything is surreal and synthesized. Even when it shines, it blinds your eyes, make you see things and grow stigmatized.

I don't regret the things I choose but I just pray to God it won't be the death of me. All I can do now is just let it be. Livin' the life everyone dreams of, where everyone pretends to just be happy.

I want a tranquilizer, put me in a trance so even if I dance I don't have to think. I don't stop in my tracks even to re-think, even if I sink. I don't mind if that's how my death would be.

PS: No, I'm not committing suicide, this was just what I wrote when my brain went into auto-pilot mode and this isn't the first. Just thought I'd share with you guys. And don't worry, I'm not emo either...well, maybe...a little  =D

I'll live!

3 countries, 10 days, 1 home - Leukerbad, Switzerland

One of the main reasons for the trip to Europe late last year, was because my father wanted us to experience and play with snow, at least once in our lives. It was the first time for both my brother and sister, but even I could barely remember the feeling of having a handful of those cold ice in my hands (ais kepal air batu campur tak kira eh!). We saw snow on the streets throughout the journey, but the snow on the streets couldn't beat what we experienced at our next destination in Switzerland. It takes about 3 hours on road from Milan to Leukerbad, and about the same via rail, if you decide to go there. Leukerbad is situated in the Valais region in Switzerland, surrounded by the majestic Alps and blessed with 65 hot springs. The town below the mountain was just a small town, like those sleepy towns, especially in winter, was where we had lunch. No choice but to swallow another dry Fillet O' Fish (barf level went up by then)

The journey up was nothing short of breathtaking and surreal. There were thick snow everywhere but it wasn't snowing just yet. Thank God it didn't cause I was seeing cliffs at every corner, I wouldn't want the tires to frost right then and there or we would all be a goner -_-"

I couldn't stop taking pictures!

Only when we were almost there that it started to fog and the snow was falling quite heavily. It was one of the quietest and strenuous bus rides I've ever been in. Imagine everyone just leaving their fate in the skillful hands of the bus driver, hoping that we'd reach the top of the mountain in one, meaty piece.

Well, we finally arrived and checked into one of the spa resorts, Lindner Alpentherme Resort and Spa, one of the biggest thermal bath spas in the mountains. The main reason for tourists and locals alike to be flocking Leukerbad was to ski, or just to relax over thermal bath and spas. I didn't bring any swimsuit and my dad was against us swimming in the snow (yes, you actually swim outside while it's snowing in hot water) although there was an indoor pool but it's okay, we were busy taking pictures and videos (and i was busy eating lemon sorbet in the icy winter) to feel like we were missing out haha

It looked like I had fun playing in the snow kan? Well, the truth is, it only lasted for about 10 minutes, until I decided that it was too cold for me and ran back into the hotel. Best part? I was too fast for the ancient automated sliding door that it closed while I was going through it. I think you can derive the ending from there. Luckily, I wasn't injured but it was majorly embarrassing. Fortunately, I had my hoodie on (operasi cover muka berjalan dengan lancar)

Well, we were there only for one night, thankfully, cause I'd be bored out of my brains since it was too cold, too quiet and no, there were no parties going on. Everyone was double or triple my age -_-"

I think I went during the wrong season. I heard there were hot girls in summertime, tanyalah Ubir (tipu je nih) =P

Ah well, I didn't take photos of people swimming in the thermal baths, I was scared it'll be offensive so here's a picture from... GOOGLE! (teman baik Luqiee)  =D

Are you enjoys? (that's intentional by the way, in case you had the thought that I have poor grammar)  -_-"
