Clearing my wardrobe - Summer edn

The shopaholic in me is reluctant to let these go, but I've come to realize that these aren't my style anymore, so I gotta pass it to someone else who can rock em better. These are high-quality materials and they're from known high street brands (mostly bought outside Malaysia) so it justifies the price I'm putting compared to the price at purchase which are 4-5 times higher and they're still in good condition.

A friend of mine opened a new blogshop and asked me to check it out. They're selling paisley shawls and when I thought of shawls, well I'm not really a shawl person but when I saw some of their stuff, I'm having a feeling that I could rock it with just a plain tee and skinnies or even turn them into a hippie bandana! They specialize in custom-made paisley and floral motifs. I like that it has a gypsy fuse to it and they actually sew it themselves! Here are some of my favourites:

3. PARKSON x TONGUE IN CHIC - SO YOU THINK YOU CAN STYLE?

Parkson, in collaboration with Tongue in Chic, will be hosting an upcoming style challenge called 'So You Think You Can Style'. Shop Scout: Gallo by Thian

I took a little time off last week and brought my photographer/manager/boyfriend, point8cam along to attend a private blogger session by Gallo by Thian. The first time I heard about the brand was when Joyce@Kinkybluefairy wore their harem pants a year back when we went to Audi Fashion Week in Singapore. I've heard tons of good reviews about this brand so when they emailed me the invite I was pretty excited to meet up with the people behind the brand =)

When I first entered the store, I thought I was magically transported to a whimsical, cloud-nine like setting with the theme "Will You Marry Me". Unfortunately no one was bitten by the wedding bug or else! hahahahaha

Teresa Thian, a Raffles Design Institute graduate, came up with this concept that tells a story of love at first sight and marriage proposals while injecting soft, silky materials on sweet and cute designs in the shape or hearts, scallops and flowy things. I definitely fell in love at first sight with her designs. I was even spotting things I liked while the manicurist was doing my nails! Talk about multitasking! ^.^

The colour palette this Spring/Summer 2011 season revolves around an assortment of yummy cotton candies like lemonchiffon, light sky blue, pink and lavender floral not to mention other basic colours designed in such cutesy and wearable daily kind of way. I loved the prints and colours used for their scarves, dresses and especially with gold clasps for the headbands and also their heart shaped buttons. Being a person who loves detailing and cut, this collection definitely did it for me and it's glad to see that it's not being overdone. The label is available at its boutiques in The Gardens Mall, Bangsar Shopping Centre and Parkson Pavilion.

So as they greeted me and point8cam with delicious strawberry flavoured tea from TWG Tea (they served this in every room in Marina Bay Sands and oh, it was LOVE) and assortment of tea-time cakes and cookies from Delectables by Su (talk about being pampered lavishly!), I had the privilege of choosing a design I liked out of the eight that was inspired by their garments. I chose the classic that reminds me of Gallo by Thian's outfits - pastel peachy pink with tiffany blue and gold linings.

And so the process begins.

I have to admit that I'm usually not the type that goes all out to pamper myself and I know I've been complaining about it but I hope it'll change soon since I thought I work so hard and hey why not enjoy the things I've worked for ;)

And oh my, they even had to scrape out paint that was stuck from the week before's photoshoot! So shy already when they dug out blue chipped paint from underneath my nailbed HAHAHAH -_-"

I had the privilege to meet up personally with Teresa, the designer herself and talked to her a little about her brand. It was nice to see how she's personally hands on even up to the smallest details about her brand, even attending to the customers' need. According to her marketing exec, even the design of the store and the photoshoots would be overseen by Teresa herself. So you can be rest assured that quality is top-notch priority.

I haven't felt that girly in AGES!

After the manicure session, I was roaming around the store, refusing to leave even though I had to run off to study for my next papers HAHAHA and asked point8cam to snap photos of the clothes that I was eyeing on. Luckily for me, I have a boyfriend who knows my taste and he also got taste la okay! I didn't have to direct him cause I'll just say "that one" and he immediately knows which one I'm referring to and he knows how to make the material show to it's closest form in still photos. Here are my faves from the store:
