Casio Exilim ZR20: It all started with only black and white

I'm a BIG fan of monochromes regardless of it being a photograph, clothing or even design. I just feel like black and whites are the base of everything before it branches out into a technicolor world, bursting with joy. Monochromes are also more classy, especially when documenting a historical moment, or event which plays a significant part in your life. I personally think that if monochromes are not important, why would people put an importance of 'black and white' in terms of confirmation or legal and documentation stuff =P

Anyways, it all started with black and whites, even in film, right?

I just had to try snapping some photos in monochrome mode using my Casio Exilim ZR20 when my colleagues and friends are out for Miriam's birthday dinner at The Bee. What was interesting is the level function, where I can choose the level of contrast and depth, according to my preference, which is the best thing about this camera.

All the other photos are in Monochrome's  level 1. Check out Monochrome level 2 and 3 as per shown below, respectively. See the difference in contrast? The darker it gets the grainier the photo will become. I think it's due to lack of light as well at the place I was sitting but I kind of like the grainy feel to it. It looks more genuine and has character. 

What about you? Do you prefer clear, crisp photos of ones with abstract and not following the rule of thumb in photography? I personally prefer the latter. After all, I'm not the kind of girl that would follow rules ;P
