I think I have been watching Team KiX shoot numerous video but I can't be more excited when they took on the project to shoot H&M's first opening in Kuala Lumpur officially. Probably shopping and fashion is a subject that's close to my heart but knowing that H&M, a brand that I always look for whenever I go traveling has finally opened in Malaysia and the people who are close to me, especially point8cam will be shooting it just makes it even better.
It all started with being invited to view their showroom, and the rest was history. I had fun brainstorming with point8cam over a cup of teh o ais, helping him draft the core idea of the video content before he took it up to his team and made it more solid. Trust me, we had so many ideas - from the plain cheesy to radical ones. Maybe we will keep them for future uses instead. As a person who loves the process of idea creation, I was happy to be included in that stage of the whole thing.
When the day came, I was busy doing my blogger thing at the party (I shopped up a storm) and wasn't around when they were shooting but I offered to just be a sidekick and also cause I wanted to cover the public opening, so I had to wake up really early and followed point8cam to KL, to start the shoot. I had fun learning about production, especially a quick one and how to manage impromptu styling for some of the public store patrons in the video. Now I know what it feels like to be a wardrobe person that needs to be on their feet all the time.
I am more proud to see Team KiX pulling this video with so much style and flair, but at the same time captured the whole essence of H&M - clothes by people for the people. Capturing audio and conversations were a last minute decision but I'm glad we actually did it. It made the video felt more real. Thank you KiX for bringing this extra baggage to the shoot (pointing at self) and good job.
