As I went through KLCC's mall concourse looking a little OTT for a normal day shopper, I can't help but wonder if my outfit was going to be a little too much for a store launch cum trunk show. When I reached the venue and saw the stellar looking crowd, a relieved sigh was let out and I whispered to point8cam "I think I look a little casual, but it's okay". It was my second time taking out my Gucci clutch to play, although my outfit choice was a little rushed (and I don't think it matched well) but I couldn't care less. I was there for Diane von Furstenberg's show! There's always a first in everything, although this being their second boutique in Malaysia.
Local celebrities and socialites graced the event with their beautiful outfits, some from DVF's latest collection while sipping on their champagne and munching on crafted canapés. The trunk show was the highlight of the night, where the clothes were specially flown from the Fall Winter 2012 runway under the theme 'Rendez-Vous' - a manifestation of women's multitude facts, a display of opposing dimensions; effortless but elaborate. Scarlet red, dark lapis and other bold prints were seen in this collection, a signature of this brand. Material-wise, it is a little heavy for our Malaysian weather, but it doesn't mean it's an excuse to not equip our wardrobe with fall winter clothing for traveling. I believe in having something just in case if we need it, and will always do.
