Best of Selangor - Things to checkout (End Sept - Early Oct)

It has been a while since I wrote anything about my beloved state of Selangor. We tend to get more fascinated about things happening outside of our own vicinity that we always forget that there's so much to do, see, visit and experience within our own backyard. So far, I have written two blogposts about Selangor and you can read each one by clicking on the respective titles below:

If you have anything interesting for me to write about that's related to Selangor, do let me know via my email haniehidayah at gmail dot com =)

In this installation, I want to share with you an event in Klang Valley that you should visit if you love food and shopping! Back for another round, Markets @ Jaya One and Food Bites will happen tomorrow (29th September, Saturday) from 11am - 6pm for you to shop til you drop on specially curated stalls catering to your fashion or foodie needs.  I have personally been to the Chic Pop Market  installation in Jaya One so you can watch to have an overview oh how happening it could be! =P

Another thing to look out for next week would be the launching of H&M's second flagship store in Setia City Mall, Shah Alam (will upload photos once I receive them!) on 3rd October 2012, 11am. If you're living in Shah Alam, Klang or Subang, you would not want to miss being the first one to be in the new store for the latest goods and receive vouchers for you to shop with!:

- First 150 in line will receive cash card worth RM50 each
- First person in line will receive cash card worth RM200.

According to my sources, there would be special in-store offers during the Setia Alam H&M store opening so you will HAVE to check it out!

It would also be the launch of the Anna Dello Russo x H&M special collaboration collection and according to my experience, they do run out pretty fast so you should grab your hands on the items before they're off the shelves! Do note that you can only get the ADR x H&M collection at the Lot 10 store.

Here are some photos of the items from the ADR x H&M collection:

Spikes, Studs, Rock & Roll

No matter how much I try to wear more dresses, heels and carry clutches most of the time I will always go back to my profound love of tank tops and jeans, staying true to my inner bloke traits. I'm always tempted to raid the boyfriend's wardrobe for more flannels and fortunately for him, his jeans are too loose for the petite me. I have no idea why, or how did I fell in love with hardcore things, but when the studs, spikes and everything rock and roll made a big comeback, even on the girlies things, I ended up head over those studded heels so I finally calmed myself down and got myself a few pairs of circle-shaped sunnies and one spiked headband from ASOS.

The rubber snapped on the first try but there's nothing I can't fix unless it's a total lost case. My Cheap Monday sunnies in this photo, however wasn't on the same page cause it broke off after about one and a half week's of usage... I mean, I don't expect a 15 pound glasses to last that long but 1.5 weeks just broke the record. No idea if I should message ASOS up but we'll see. I really loved the matte effect of the sunnies though, which made me utterly sad when I saw it fall into pieces by itself in my hands. Almost like watching a flower wither within seconds.

Totally ridiculous but lucky I bought two more sunnies of the similar shape. I think I will stick to Raybans for now.

H&M Kuala Lumpur - The Launch, Store insight and Anna Dello Russo

What I wore to H&M's launch - top to toe by H&M. Saw all items in store except the leather skirt. Had a barbie pink pair of shoes but my toes were hurting from all the walking so I bought a pair of RM39.90 flats to the rescue =P

I initially wanted to wait until I could gather more photos before I would post this up but I just received news regarding the public launching tomorrow for KL's first H&M store in Lot 10, Bukit Bintang. Following the success of the private launching (photos in a bit), H&M is giving out gift cards for those who would be queueing for the 10am opening tomorrow. The details are as per following for the queue:

1st: get RM500 H&M gift card
2-5th: RM200 H&M gift card
Next 300 people: RM50 H&M gift card

I will be around the public launching tomorrow at Lot 10 with Team KIX, the official filmers for this launch so if you happen to be there, say hi! Come join in the fun, it'll be great.

Now, I'm sure a lot of people are wondering what's the big hoo-haa with this H&M coming into Malaysia, since we've been buying them while traveling all these years anyway. I personally feel that it's a great addition to the current line-up of high-street stores in Kuala Lumpur catering to the younger, more hop crowd with an array of new clothes that comes in almost everyday, according to my sources.

The launch was not like any other KL has ever seen. Situated at the tip of the Golden Triangle of KL, Lot 10's has an upper-hand when it came to visibility as you wouldn't miss out on the huge three-floor store where Debenhams used to be. It's also great that they rolled out a massively long red carpet during the launch, where I personally felt like we were in Los Angeles for an awards show! I've never walked on a red carpet that big of a scale and having being ushered for photographs and whatnot. H&M definitely topped it off when it came to luxury and I felt like a true star! Here are some photos during the launch (will add more soon once I get my camera back):

Below are the some images of the store before it was opened taken by point8cam during shoot reccee, cause I couldn't snap much photos during the launch due to the crazy crowd:

I'll break it down to you floor by floor:

Ground - Ladies, shoes, accessories, new arrivals.
First - More ladies, basics, themes, lingerie.
Second - Mens and kids.

I kid you not when I say it's HUGE. Practically two-and-a-half floors of clothes, shoes and accessories. When I thought that I've made a full round, I was wrong. There's always a corner that I missed out on and I had to make sure I visited each nook and cranny of the store, in case if I miss out on things and truthfully, there are still parts that I've missed out on.

Basically, I spent about RM600 after 20% discount for VIPs, and here is my first H&M Kuala Lumpur haul:

Another thing that the crowd must have been wondering would be the pricing for H&M since we know the pricing range of the Euro stores previously. Now that it's much easier to see the worth of the product, in comparison of trying to convert it from another currencies, you will notice that the price tags really justifies the worth of the product in hand.

Oh and guess what we received in the goodie bag? An Anna Dello Russo x H&M luggage tags! So OTT, just like her =P

Will write about it soon!:

Agyness Deyn x Dr Martens

As the fashion world have known by now, the collaboration between Dr Martens and Agyness Deyn is one of the highlights of this month, considering that Agy Deyn is one of the it girls of fashion and Dr Martens, needs no further introduction, both being British's top fashion icons. The collaboration features Agyness Deyn's creative self-expression, using her British desire to be different. That, hit me on the right spots. This capsule collection will be available globally from August 2012, inspired from popular cultures of film, TV, style and music.

Consumers are encouraged to inject individuality when wearing these items, as separates or combined together, according to your creative inspirations. I'm definitely loving the over-the-knee laced up booths (lycra and leather combo) with the laced up velvet creepers in both colors. The leather ankle boots with the buckle straps also hit my soft spot, as I love tough chick items that can be combined with a little bit of girly hints in my outfit.

Check out this exclusive interview with Agyness Deyn by Streething:

I am so going to get a pair!
Which one do you think would suit me best?
